Sonic Youth at Celebrate Brooklyn
It'll be a madhouse for sure, but it seems worth braving the throngs to see a free Sonic Youth show in Prospect Park tonight, no? The indie elders first took screwdriver to guitar in 1981 -- since then, they've torn up, re-assembled, and nearly transcended rock and roll with Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore's domestic zen. Garage trio Grass Widow knit a loose fabric of guitar and vocal counterpoint; noise duo Talk Normal send out tidal waves of distortion and delay.

Elaine Stritch and Bernadette Peters Make A Little Night Music
If you're hot in the city this weekend (so what else is new) the best place to cool off is the Walter Kerr Theatre, where theater legends Elaine Stritch and Bernadette Peters have taken over the roles of Madame Armfeldt and Desiree Armfeldt in A Little Night Music. (The roles were previously played by Angela Lansbury and Catherine Zeta-Jones respectively.) I loved both versions, but something specials happens when Elaine and Bernadette take the stage. Brava ladies.

Papers for iPhone update
A fresh update to Papers for iPhone is now available on the iTunes App Store.
Papers for iPhone is now compliant with the new iPhone OS 3.0 (fixing the PDF viewing problems some people were experiencing), but also has a fantastic new feature: in-app emailing.
You can now email an article to a friend or group of colleagues without leaving Papers. Just select your article and go to ‘Share by email’ to compose and send a new message without skipping a beat.
Check out Papers for iPhone on the iTunes App Store.
This update is free to all existing users. Just check for updates from iTunes or visit the App Store from your iPhone or iPod Touch to update to version 1.2. Of course, just to be sure that everything goes smoothly, you can make use of the free library backup service.

Used Car Exercise 4 Our issue is that we need a new vehicle because ours was wrecked and the rental car we were given to use after the wreck by the insurance company is about to expire, leaving us no mode of transportation. We are looking into buying a used vehicle from an advertisement in the local paper. We weren t sure if the vehicle was still available so we have called the owner and inquired. We do not know who we are buying the car from but we are interested in purchasing the Volkswagen Jetta because of the advertisement in our local newspaper.
